Not a southern born girl, Swift began to build her country career at the age of 14. She was an almost immediate success and was the youngest person ever hired as a songwriter by Sony. By 2006, her debut album was a hit, and she was winning awards by the age of 20.

She has consistently toured and performed since then, with two immensely successful tours between 2009 and 2012, and with the 2013 tour selling out quickly. Her "demographic" is immense and diverse. She has earned praise from the likes of former U.S. president George W.H. Bush and also has received Kids' Choice Awards. She is recognized by major role models for her charitable work and donations, and is noted as one of the wealthiest celebrities in the world - with a private jet, several homes, and hundreds of millions in earnings. Not too bad for a kid who started pursuing her dream less than a decade earlier!
