The Los Angeles Angels is a Major League team from the American League that first played professional baseball in 1961. Throughout its rich history, the LA Angels of Anaheim was owned for 35 years by a singing cowboy.  Interestingly, the Walt Disney Company owned the team for seven years. The professional debut game of the franchise saw the team defeating the Baltimore Orioles and they ended the season with the best percentage record by any rookie team. In 1965, the team changed its name to California Angels. With the ownership of the team belonging to Walt Disney from 1997, the franchise was renamed Anaheim Angels. It was under the ownership of Disney that the team became the AL pennant in 2002 and propelled them to become the World Series titleholder in 2002. In this season, the team reached the playoffs as a wild card berth team.

The name was changed again in 2005 as the new owner added the name Los Angeles to it and hence, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Before being approved, legal battles in court came in to motion and the name was upheld after four years of legal battle. From there on, the media and fans are calling the team as ‘The Angels’ or ‘The Halos’.

The Angels first played their baseball game at Wrigley Field in LA in 1961 and then moved to Chavez Ravine in 1962; this is also the Dodgers’ Stadium. They played in this stadium for four seasons or until 1965. The Angel Stadium of Anaheim was built in 1966 and since then, it has been the home stadium or ballpark of the Angels. This stadium is close to Disneyland in Anaheim. Nearly five decades since the establishment of the stadium, modernization and renovations have been made. The A-frame of the stadium is one of the distinguishing features of it and hence, the name "Big A". The stadium is configured mainly as venue for baseball. The stadium features a "California spectacular" view of real nature and artificial rocks. Amenities such as dugout level seating, Pepsi Perfect Game Pavilion, The Diamond Club, The Knot Hole Club and the Homeplate Club.
