Jersey Boys Tickets

If you have never enjoyed a "jukebox musical" before, but you love the music of that era, you will want to grab a seat at a performance of Jersey Boys. This show about world famous "Franki Valli and the Four Seasons" opened to great acclaim in 2005. A review in The New York Times said that it was for "those who want something more than recycled chart toppers and a story line poured from a can". Today it is still going strong on Broadway, has a national tour, and is opening in several worldwide locations too - including London, South Africa, and the Netherlands. The tour has dates through August of 2014.

Why would anyone sit through a full-length Broadway musical about a single band from New Jersey? The story of Franki Valli and the Four Seasons is fascinating. Additionally, the show is cleverly constructed as four seasons during which time each member of the band takes his turn to talk about memories and the history of the group.

Many viewers were initially surprised to see that the story line shows how the band was a success and then began to lose its position as a top and of the 60s. The story of the song "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" is a major part of the plot, but there is no absence of other great tunes from that band and from that era.

The show is the brainchild of an original member of the Four Seasons - Bob Gaudio. He worked with a producer to create a story around the amazing recordings done by the band. However, it is the actual story of the band that mesmerizes audiences. This is because the "Jersey Boys" were not the idealized and clean cut people that the media of the time portrayed. Instead, some of them were felons and none of them would have withstood any serious scrutiny by the press.

Additionally, the interviews done by the writers of the musical revealed that each person in the band had a totally different perspective and this was used to develop a very unique story line that incorporated all of the contrasting memories and beliefs.

Right from the start this show was a hit. It earns raves wherever it goes, so whether you see it in New York or while it is on tour, it is going to be a fun and enjoyable experience.
