Houston Rockets Tickets

Since entering the National Basketball Association in 1967 as the San Diego Rockets before moving to Houston, the team has won two NBA Championships. This occurred in back to back seasons (1994-1995) and overall, the team has reached four NBA Championships. The Rockets have won five division titles in the Western Conference.

The Rockets have seen many of the greatest players in the history of the NBA play for them. The team has officially retired the number of five legendary players including Clyde Drexler, Clyde Murphy, Moses Malone, Hakeem Olajuwon and Rudy Tomjanavich. The team has also seen other NBA Hall of Famers lace up their shoes for the team including Charles Barkley, Rick Barry, Elvin Hayes, Scottie Pippen and Ralph Sampson.

One of the greatest players in the history of the franchise and the league is Olajuwon, who played a large role in the Houston title runs. Also known as “The Dream,” Olajuwon played most of his career with the Rockets, only leaving to play for the Toronto Raptors in his final season. During his time with in Houston, he won one NBA MVP award, two NBA Finals MVP awards, two NBA Defensive Player of the Year awards and was also selected to 12 NBA All-Star games. The Nigerian born player was an easy selection to the Hall of Fame and finished his career with 26,946 points.

The Rockets play their home games at the Toyota Center. The Toyota Center is one of the most popular sports arenas around the country and holds more than 18,000 basketball fans each night during the season. The facility opened in 2003 and cost $235 to construct, which translates to roughly $252 million in 2013. The state of the art arena gives fans in every seat a great view of all the action and for those looking to spend a little more for a suite will bring home memories which will last a lifetime.
