Hamilton is a musical about Alexander Hamilton which is currently showing live at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway in New York City and many other venues nationwide.  Lin-Manuel Miranda is the genius behind this blockbuster play. It was inspired by a biography about Alexander Hamilton that was written by famous historian, Ron Chernow. This musical has been pulling in sellout crowds night after night and later this year it will also be showing live in both Chicago and Los Angeles.

Hamilton had a sold out Off-Broadway debut at The Public Theatre in NYC in February, 2015. During August 2015, it was moved over to Broadway at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. It has received Grammy Awards for the Best Musical Theatre Album and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The Off-Broadway production of Hamilton won the 2015 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Musical as well as seven other Drama Desk Awards out of 14 total nominations, while the Broadway production was nominated for an all-time record-setting 16 Tony Awards and won 11 of these nominations.
