Picture a high school kid performing Jimmy Buffett tunes at gigs in a North Carolina bar and you have an accurate portrait of the earliest concerts of Eric Church. Today, though, fans of this multi-hit wonder can enjoy him in much nicer venues that some local bars and dives as he continues performing and touring throughout the summer. Like so many of his previous tours, this summer's action sees him alongside names like Kenny Chesney, but he is also offering up rare solo performances too. In fact, some of them have sold out so quickly that the singer and songwriter has made second performances available.
As someone who has only been in the public eye since 2005, Church's career can said to be meteoric. With four studio albums under his belt and more than ten top ten singles as well, he has proven himself to be a true force to reckon with in the country music world, and perhaps it was all due to the rougher days of performances to tough crowds.
Church was able to nab a record deal within his first year in Nashville, and his debut single hit the top twenty only a short time later. Not only a fan favorite, he is also a consistent critic's favorite, too, winning a long list of awards in a short period of time. He is also a tireless touring performer and he has toured continually since 2006. He appeared as a guest in the "Me & My Gang Tour" alongside Rascal Flatts, the "Locked and Loaded Tour" with Miranda Lambert and almost a dozen other tours in which he appeared with top country and rock names. The "Outsiders World Tour" running from 2014-2015 saw him alongside Dwight Yoakam and other country frontrunners.
He has also enjoyed success with is live releases too. The "Caught in the Act" album taken from a live set at the Tivoli Theater in Chattanooga, TN opened at #5 on the Billboard 200, showing that he was likely to be a consistent crossover success. This held true in early 2014 when his single, "The Outsiders" hit number one on country and rock charts.
If you want to see why Eric Church is a fan and critics’ favorite and how his many years of touring have turned him into a live performance champion, be sure to grab some tickets for any of his solo or guest performances this summer.
